ZCCM-IH digs deep
ZCCM-IH investment holdings has declared a dividend of over K81 million to the Industrial Development Corporation for the 2017 financial year. The company also declared dividends to the Ministry of Finance and National Pensions Scheme Authourity (NAPSA) to a tune of K23.3million and K20.3 million respectively,for the 2017 financial year. IDC,which owns 60 percent in ZCCM -IH received a dividend of K81.4 million,out of the K135 million to be distributed to its shareholders.
Speaking during cheque presentations to the recipients yesterday,ZCCM-IH chcief executive officer Pius Kasolo said the development positions the company as the largest dividend payer. ” This is the biggest dividend being paid in 2017. Dr Kasolo said the company has managed to transform itself into a profit making organisation,posting profit of K728 million in the period under review,from a loss of K2.2 billion the previous year.
“We ZCCM-IH are the most profitable company in the IDC group and we will continue being a key in the group ” said Dr Kasolo.
Meanwhile,Finance Minister Honorable Margaret Mwanakatwe said the dividend will go a long way towards supporting Government Programmes.
