Chipunastone to develop copper, gold mine

CHIPUNASTONE Investment Limited plans to develop a copper and gold open-pit mine in Mwinilunga at a cost of US$5 million.The mine which is also expected to produce silver, has an annual projection capacity of 6,750 tonnes and 29,892 ounces for copper and gold respectively.

According to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report submitted by the Chipunastone Investment Limited to the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), the estimated lifespan of the project is about 20 years.
