Chamber releases impact study on Sales Tax

How will the Government’s proposed Sales Tax affect ordinary Zambians? The Zambia Chamber of Mines’ brand new report, A Tax Too Far: The economic impact of Zambia’s proposed Sales Tax, shows that local distributors of imported goods would be hit hardest if Sales Tax is adopted. The tax’s dreaded ‘cascade effect’ would also mean higher taxes on everyday items like fuel, making life more expensive for each and every Zambian.
