THE Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) is targeting to buy at least 1, 230 tonnes of soya beans for use in its biodiesel project.
CEC public relations advisor Muntanga Sibalwa said in response to a press query that the company has so far received over 50 expressions of interest from farmers across the country to supply soya beans to the firm.
Ms Sibalwa, however, said the fluctuating market prices of soya beans have negatively affected the deliveries.
“So far, we have procured 59.92 tonnes of soya beans but our target is to procure 1, 230 tonnes,” she said.
Ms Sibalwa said the company has spent K233, 688 to buy the 59 tonnes of soya beans http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
