Call for Participation – 8th National Conference on OHSE
THEME – “VISION ZERO – BUILDING A STRONG PREVENTION CULTURE THROUGH A TRANSFORMATIONAL APPROACH.”
The Zambia Chamber of Mines (ZCM) in conjunction with the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Mining and the Africa Vision Zero Network, is pleased to announce that it will be holding its 8th National Conference on Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), the Vision Zero Mining Sector Launch, on Tuesday, 29th October and Wednesday, 30th October 2024 at Avani Hotel, LIVINGSTONE.
The National Conference, introduced in 2014, provides a forum for promoting professional discourse and sharing of best practices in OHSE in the mining sector through researched presentations and networking activities; complemented by an array of exhibitions on the sideline, by providers of OHSE products and services. The Chamber considers promotion of sound Occupational Health, Safety and Environment practices as one of the key pillars for achieving sustainable and responsible mining, in line with its mission.
The Conference is recognised by the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activity; eligible participants are awarded 3 CPD points.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The target group includes experts and practitioners in HSE, from industry, government, academia, research institutions, regulatory authorities and professional bodies.
SPEAKERS
The Conference will bring together local and international speakers from academia, cooperating partners and industry; thereby providing excellent opportunities for learning, sharing experiences, collaboration and networking.
ZAMBIAN MINING AWARDS GALA DINNER (WEDNESDAY, 30th OCTOBER 2024)
Further we are pleased to announce that the Zambia Chamber of Mines will also be holding the 8th Zambian Mining Awards Gala Dinner, after the Conference on Wednesday, 30th October 2024 at 18:00 hours. Delegates are invited to attend the Gala Dinner.
PARTICIPATION FEES
- Package A – Conference only: Participation fee is K8,000 per delegate. This includes conference fees, conference materials, lunches and teas for the duration of the conference and free invitation to a networking cocktail to be held on Tuesday, 29th October, 2024 at Avani Hotel, Livingstone.
- Package B – Conference plus Zambian Mining Awards Gala Dinner: K10,500 per delegate (K8,000 for the Conference and K2,500 for the Gala Dinner).
- Exhibitors- Exhibition for a 9 square meters booth for the duration of the Conference, K10,000.
Fees should be paid into the Zambia Chamber of Mines, Account No. 009-1939657, ABSA Bank, Kitwe Business Centre, prior to the conference, not later than Monday, 30th September 2024. ACCOMMODATION
Delegates are requested to make own accommodation arrangements. For those wishing to stay at the hotel, there is a promo code for the Conference which will allow participants to lodge at the hotel at reduced charges on first come, first served basis. We will also be able to guide on alternative accommodation for those wishing to stay near the Conference venue.
