Barrick Lumwana Process Plant wins the 13th Inter-Company First Aid Competition

Barrick Lumwana  Process Plant has won the 13th Inter-company First Aid competition held at Arthur Davis stadium in Kitwe, beating Chambishi Metals – Cobalt and FQML – Kansanshi Engineering, who took second and the third place respectively.

The Competition, held on the 11th of August under the theme ‘Life is Precious, Help the Injured’, was hosted by  Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) and organised by the Chamber of Mines Zambia Council for First Aid (CMZCFA)

Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Honourable Richard Musukwa was the Guest of Honour at the well-attended competition and saw 21 mining companies vie for the top spot. It also attracted various Chief Executive Officers and Management Officials from almost all mining companies.

The Chamber of Mines Zambia Council for First Aid coordinates the training and certification of First Aid to miners in the mining industry in conformity to Mining Regulations MR 1201 – 120 as well as 213 and 214.

The 14th Inter-company First Aid competition, will be hosted by FQML in Solwezi in 2019.
