Barrick donates K150,000 to Solwezi General Hospital
Barrick Lumwana Mine has donated K150,000 to Solwezi General Hospital .
The apt donation has come through as a contribution towards the rehabilitation of the maternity wing that was blown away by a hailstorm that occurred on 8th March, 2019 at the General hospital.
During a meeting held at National Archives of Zambia in Lusaka, Barrick Lumwana’s Country Executive Director Mr Nathan Chishimba handed over a K150,000 cheque to the North-western province Permanent Secretary (PS) Mr Willies Manjimela.
Speaking at the event, Mr Chishimba said Barrick was committed to ensure that the people of Solwezi had access to good health facilities in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on good health and well-being.
Speaking at the same event, North-western province PS Mr Manjimela thanked Barrick Lumwana Mine for the exemplary works that they have continued to render to the people of Solwezi.
He added that the money donated will go a long way in rehabilitating the maternity ward.
